When I was a young girl my favorite activity in Aruba was to go snorkeling. We would often bring our own snorkels and head into the shallow waters along the beautiful beaches to search for fish and coral. This year we got the opportunity to take a snorkeling trip with Pelican Adventures aboard one of their catamarans, which would take us all the way out into the ocean to explore shipwrecks and more!
We started the day by meeting at the Pelican Pier, which is a great spot for all water sports! Pelican Adventures offers a variety of sailing cruises as well as scuba tours, beach and cave tours and even some amazing jeep safaris so there is no shortage of awesome activities to do! We had a quick lunch at Moomba Beach (one of my favorite spots for a quick bite and drink) and started our adventure out into the crystal clear waters.
In my opinion, Aruba is one of the best places for snorkeling! The water really is CRYSTAL CLEAR! We could easily float on top of the service and see all of the bright fish and coral, but Ryan and I are a little more adventurous than most so we decided to try and dive down as deep as we could! When we arrived at the Antilla Wreck, a 400-foot long World War II shipwreck, we dove down almost 20 feet so we could see all of the wildlife hiding inside! We also snorkeled at the beautiful Catalina Bay where we saw some of the most colorful fish I have ever seen! Here are a few photos of my favorites from the day!
If you head to Aruba I highly recommend joining Pelican Adventures on AT LEAST one of their tours! We couldn’t help ourselves from coming back a second time to take their Sunset Dinner Cruise on our last night on the island and it did not disappoint! We spent two hours sailing up and down the coast, dancing and enjoying the beautiful views! It was by far the most gorgeous sunset of our trip so I am so glad we got to end our trip with them! We even made new friends and joined them for the 3-course dinner afterwards at the famous Pelican Nest Seafood Grill restaurant.
xoxo. Alexandra
