Unless you are an avid skier or snowboarder, winter in Vermont can feel like it will never end (and trust me when I say this…we sometimes get snow in June!). One activity that everyone gets excited for each year is the Hotel Vermont Ice Bar. While this year's festivities were slightly delayed due to COVID-19 (the event was scheduled to take place in February but was delayed until March 11 & 12, 2022), the weather did not disappoint us! I was lucky enough to attend the first night of two, and had one of the best nights that winter had to offer!
Each year the Ice Bar has a theme, and this year's was "Vermont-formal." Guests came decked out in their finest flannel attire, and competed to win flashiest fit for tickets to next year's event, while enjoying ice sculptures, festive sips and snacks, axe throwing, ice games, and more! Outdoor ice bars offered specialty cocktails, local spirits, cider, and brews! Plus, DJ Cre8 set the mood and got everyone on the dance floor with 4 hours of hits! Perhaps my favorite moment of the night was when Hotel Vermont's Yeti paraded through the event with a marching band in tow!
Tickets to the Ice Bar are $65 per person, including entry and 3 tokens redeemable for drink, food truck eats, and few surprises throughout the evening. More tokens are available for purchase! Soup, pizza, snacks, and tasting room access are complimentary. Be sure to purchase your tickets for Ice Bar 2023 early, as they do sell out!
