When Ryan and I first decided to move in together I wanted to find the perfect mix of city and country. Stowe, Vermont was THE PLACE and we rented our first apartment there. Now, nearly six years later, we are blessed to call this area our home and we absolutely LOVE it. Stowe is the PERFECT location for your winter getaway and there are so many reasons why! Not only is it the alpine Ski Capital of the East, but it also is a great place to get active with dog sledding, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and sleigh rides. And if NONE of those things sound up your alley, you can always shop or enjoy the delicious food!
We’ve missed traveling so much so we were so excited to take a mid-week trip over to The Lodge at Spruce Peak to relax and enjoy all that the beautiful resort has to offer. They are even pet-friendly so we got to take Oscar with us, which was such a treat! Walking into the lobby, we were instantly greeted by floor to ceiling vistas of the entire Spruce Peak Village, including the slopes, and the friendly staff who gave us all of the information we could possibly need on where to head for shopping for skiwear, grabbing food and drinks, or catching the gondola to the slopes. We got to take a tour of the resort with Anderson, who even showed us the beautiful penthouses and luxury rentals you can opt to stay in! We headed to our Alpine Studio to settle in, which offered stunning views of Mount Mansfield and was decorated in the same rustic vibe as the rest of Spruce Peak. With a beautiful marble tub and walk-in shower, stone-framed fireplace, and kitchen, we definitely had every luxury of a Vermont ski getaway we could imagine, and MORE.
Waking up each morning to look out at the view was truly something special and definitely the perfect way to start the day. Spruce Peak is nestled between some of the most beautiful mountains in Vermont: Spruce, Mansfield, Sterling and Madonna. We enjoyed many of the activities the Lodge at Spruce Peak had to offer, including skiing, ice skating, and après-ski dining! You can check out my top 5 winter activities to do at Spruce Peak COMING SOON. They even have a golf course and adventure center for the warmer months! The main lobby in the Lodge itself is a great place to hang out during the day or after you get back from the mountain, with multiple hearths and seating areas far apart for everyone to safely enjoy! The restaurants are all within walking distance and had such amazing food and drinks. A few of my favorite meals we had during our trip were the fine-dining experience at Solstice Restaurant, enjoying sushi in an igloo on the Mansfield Terrace, and eating unique Vermont appetizers at the WhistlePig Pergolas. Everywhere we went was absolutely DELICIOUS! We spent our evenings relaxing in the outdoor Jacuzzi hot tubs which are available by reservation. There was no better way I could imagine to end each day! They even have a heated pool which was warm enough to swim in and pretty magical with the snow falling all around.
If you're ever in Stowe you should definitely head over to The Lodge at Spruce Peak and experience it for yourself - we truly enjoyed every moment of our stay! While we were so sad to leave (as was Oscar!), we can’t wait to visit again and, hopefully, get to take even more adventures in the spring and summer! Thank you so much to The Lodge at Spruce Peak for having us as your guests!
xoxo. Alexandra
Our stay at The Lodge at Spruce Peak was comped in exchange for the blog and social media coverage we provided for the resort. However I am not being compensated for this post. Thank you to The Lodge at Spruce Peak for hosting us!
